We’ll gather at the studio to practice together with a recording of one of Geeta’s historic Friday night classes. The livestream will feature audio of her teaching paired with demonstrators on screen so we can all follow along.
This is a unique opportunity to experience Geeta’s guidance and practice as a community in her honor.
All levels welcome—we hope to see you there. No charge.
We invite you to join us for a rare and meaningful event celebrating the life and teachings of Geeta Iyengar, one of the most influential yoga teachers of our time.
Geeta, (1944-2018), daughter of B.K.S. Iyengar, was a senior teacher and co-director of the RIM Yoga Institute in Pune, India. She became known worldwide for her gift for breaking down complex poses step-by-step, and her powerful teaching presence. Students described her as teaching “like a lion”—with strength, vigor, and deep compassion.
Her legendary Friday night classes drew students from around the globe to study with her in India. She taught until her passing in 2018 and authored several influential books, including *Yoga: A Gem for Women*.
